I’m very excited to show you one of my latest creations! I did have to take my sewing machine out of retirement to make this, but it was so worth it!
Tah Dah! My version of a Rag Bag!

Isn’t it awesome? I used the Stampin’ Up! Scallop Square Die to cut the squares and cotton batting and the Flower Folds Die to make the pink flower. I actually cut 8 layers of fabric at once, 6 layers of batting! After checking with several sources on how to make one, I ended up changing things up and making my own plan. I wanted my bag to be sturdy and hold its shape, so I added a layer of interfacing. So there are actually 4 things sewn together to make each square; fabric, interfacing, batting, and another layer of fabric. The lining is all one fabric and the same as my clasp and handles. Finished size is approx. 12 x 12.

If you want to learn how, come to my Big Shot Class on March 4th! RSVP by March 2nd. We’ll be learning several fun projects using fabric. (You won’t actually make the bag in class, but enough to start your own. Depending on interest, I may be persuaded to do a Rag Bag class!)
What do you think?

Stop by tomorrow to see what I’ve been working on! Yes, it has kept me from posting, but I think you’ll find it all worth waiting for!
