Back in the saddle. . .

. . . finally!  I know it’s been awhile since I last posted!  So much has happened and life has been very busy!  One of the reasons I love being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is that I can slow down or pick it up when it works best for me!  (As a matter of fact, during Sale-a-bration is a great time to sign up as the starter kit is 15% off and you get a FREE stamp set!)  Give me a call or send me an email if you’d like to learn how you can take advantage of this special offer!

The holidays were busy with a  trip to Fargo before Christmas to pick up Mom and bring her to Mendota Hgts to be with us and another after to take her home again.  Each year I’m more grateful to have her with us!

I spent time before and after Christmas preparing projects to demonstrate at the annual Stampin’ Up! leadership conference!  The theme of my demo booth was Sale-a-bration.  Oh, and by the way, the conference was in sunny Phoenix this year. . . 70 degrees each day!  Just another perk of being a SU! demonstrator!    Here’s a photo of me with the sign for my demo booth!

p1080156

Here’s what the booth looked like!  You can’t see it in the photo, but there was a mirror above me for those farther back to see what I was up to!  (I think I know what it’s like to be the guy that sells vegetable choppers at the state fair!)

p1080165

Literally hundreds of demonstrators stopped by to watch my demonstration.  I must admit that I was very nervous!  I had so much to share and the time flew by very quickly.  Here’s a photo of my display boards.

The second board shows two of the classes that I have coming up!

At the top is the Dots & Designs Card Class coming up on January 28th and at the bottom is the Wonderful Watercolor Class coming on February 1st!  Click to download a form with all the details!

It’s good to be home again and working on my calendar for stamping events!  I learned so much and can’t wait to share it with all of you!

And the winner is. . .

The winner of the drawing associated with the 12 Days of Christmas Sales is Pam Dyer!!!! Congratulations, Pam!  You get your choice of a My Digital Studio, a stamp set from my collection (and there are awesome sets to choose from), or an exclusive stamping time with me!

Build a Bear® and Stampin’ Up!® Workshop

I held my first Build a Bear® and Stampin’ Up!® Workshop on Friday night!  I had so much fun preparing for it, but even more fun during it!  While the girls (14 of them!) viewed the new Hal & Holly Moose™ Christmas DVD, I spent time showing the moms & grandma the Build a Bear® collection of products that Stampin’ Up!® offers.  I gave them instructions for helping their children with the projects they would make together once the movie ended.  Vickie, the ingenious hostess mom, thought to bring Chicago mix popcorn and juice boxes for treats for the girls while they watched the movie.  That was totally a hit!

When the movie finished, we gathered in my stampin’ studio for some stampin’ fun!  Each of the girls used the Big Shot to cut out their own bear to go their 6×6 page.  They also stamped an adorable card!

babw-6x6

This is the 6×6 page we made.  Some will use it for their next BABW experience and I was informed that some will use it for a photo of one of their many previous BABW experiences.  (Some of them reeeeaaalllly like Build a Bear!  (Supply list:  Stampin’ Up! Bear Die, Beary Girl Sizzlit, Raspberry Lemonade DSP, and the Beary Nice Wishes stamp set.)

babw-card

Here’s the card we made!  I received this one in a swap earlier in the year.  It was created by DW.  (That’s all the info I have from the back of the card.)  Supply list: Texture Plates Kit #4, Seal of Pawthenticity and Beary Nice Wishes stamp sets, Kraft Taffeta Ribbon, 1 1/4″, 1 3/8″, and Scallop Circle Punches.

Here are some photos of the fun!

Giving thanks. . .

. . . is something I want to do all year long, not only at Thanksgiving!  I’m grateful for so many things, but today I’m thinking of the wonderful opportunities and people that are in my life because of Stampin’ Up!

I just love this time of year!  There are so many new ideas to try and gifts to be made!  I must admit that I am truly having a blast using the Flower Folds Die with my Big Shot to make fabric flower pins!  I’ve now taught over 30 people how to make them! Each one turns out unique and special.  The biggest expense in making them can be the button used to embellish it.  (I have shared my grandma’s buttons in my classes!)  It’s so much fun to know they are being worn by special people!

I will be selling these fabric flower pins and other gift items at a Skyway Sale (701 4th Ave S.) in downtown Mpls on, Wednesday, December 2nd.  There are numerous other vendors also contributing items toward a raffle.  Any cash proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Salvation Army.  Non-perishable food items will also be collected and will benefit Hope for the City (HFC). HFC distributes food to many homeless shelters throughout the Minneapolis area.

I hope you’ll stop by to visit me!

I’d like to share some of the card ideas that I’ve used and will be using at my card classes!

p1070915

I just love this one!  I made this one while visiting my friend, Julie Salva, in Nashville.  I used the Autumn Days stamp set, Autumn Traditions DSP, Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Ribbon.  (HINT:  Punch a 1 3/4″ circle from a post it note, be sure to get some of the sticky part and stick to center of your piece of cardstock.  Stamp around your circle to make the wreath.  Remove post it circle before stamping the leaves so no tips are cut off.)  The message is from the Level 1 hostess set Holiday Best.  Stunning!

Place a Stampin’ Up! order here!

Here’s a Christmas version using “Yes” the same stamp set!

p1070916

For this one, I used a 1 3/8″ post it circle because the pine bough stamp is larger.  The message is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (or AKA Teeny Weeny Wishes with 24 message stamps, yes, 24!) punched with the Word Window and Modern Label Punches.  You gotta love the Real Red Polka Dot Ribbon!

Okay, one more!

p1070920

This idea was cased from Dawn Olshefske.  I love that Mover & Shaper Die!  Did you know you can get that die ($42.95 regular price) for only $10 as a hostess when your party total or book party total reaches just $250?  I can still help you get the deal!  Give me a call!

I have use the Ornament Punch and the Delightful Decorations stamps a ton!  (both in the holiday mini catalog)  You can’t go wrong adding bling to any project!  The Clear Rhinestone brads go with everything and there are 84 in a package!  I really like how Dawn used the swirls from the Baroque Motif stamp set to work as the pine in the background!  Very clever!  (worth repeating, if you ask me!)

I hope you are taking time to count your blessings this Thanksgiving season.  I count you as one of mine!
